Pre-Construction
By involving the key subs in preconstruction planning, many problems can be identified early on and completely avoided.
The construction crew is responsible for carrying out the plan designers and engineers have created for a typical project. In a perfect world, everything should happen according to plan. The team must adjust on the spot because plans are never ideal, as we have learned from experience. Time and money are ultimately lost due to delays brought on by these feedback cycles and plan modifications.
According to Excel’s experience, a truly collaborative approach with motivated and qualified team members will lead to a shorter project timeline, better budget management, improved communication, and the delivery of a higher-quality project for our clients. The best alternative for attaining project goals while cutting down on the time generally needed when using the design, budget, value engineering, redesign, and re-budgeting approach is Excel’s early involvement. Excel, however, can intervene at any time with original answers.
In order to start developing modular assemblies off-site for insertion into the project months before they are needed, our Pre-Con group collaborates with other trades and identifies concerns before we arrive at the workplace.

Excel consistently demonstrates that our assessments provide value, boost productivity, and foster stronger teamwork.
Excel first looks for problems with the budget and constructability. We put this approach into reality every day and encourage cooperation between the general contractor, the owner, the design team, and other subcontractors. Personnel from D&S Electrical provide assistance with project budgeting at the conceptual stage as well as before and during the design development process.
We provide exceptionally precise conceptual cost estimates early in the process using our vast historical cost database and our knowledgeable staff. Our team examines the plans and requirements to look for unnecessary spending and areas where the design could be improved. Value engineering entails finding design and/or construction techniques that enhance the project’s economics and recommending them to the project team.
